FY20 Budget Hearings: The Boston School Committee and Interim Superintendent Perille invite parents, teachers, students, and partners to provide input on the district's FY20 budget proposal: 

Wednesday, March 20 at 5 p.m. (note this is an hour earlier than the normal 6pm start time)

The Boston School Committee is the governing body of the Boston Public Schools. The School Committee is responsible for:

  • Defining the vision, mission and goals of the Boston Public Schools;

  • Establishing and monitoring the annual operating budget;

  • Hiring, managing and evaluating the Superintendent; and

  • Setting and reviewing district policies and practices to support student achievement. 

To confirm the date, time, location or agenda of any meeting, contact the School Committee office at 617-635-9014. 

This is an opportunity for families and scholars to learn more about the possible cuts to BPS funding for FY20 and testify to committee members.
